My Favorite Sugar Cookies
I have no idea where I got this recipe. I've been making it as long as I can remember.
2 ¼ cups flour
1 cup butter
1 egg
½ cup sugar
½ cup powdered sugar
½ teaspoon cream of tartar
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
Sift four, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Cream butter and sugars. Stir in egg and vanilla. Add sifted ingredients and mix well. Roll in 1” balls. Bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes.
Frost with butter cream frosting.
Makes 3 dozen cookies.
